Report: Millwall 1-2 Reading

ADAM Le Fondre scored a controversial winner as Millwall's dismal home run continued with a narrow defeat to Reading.

The Lions went into the game full of confidence on the back of their excellent 3-1 victory at Burnley last weekend, and boss Kenny Jackett named an unchanged starting line-up for the visit of the high-flying Royals.

Millwall looked to have picked up from where they left off at Turf Moor when they took the lead after just 15 minutes. Harry Kane's clever flick played-in Andy Keogh, who kept his cool to score from 12 yards.

But the visitors were level deep inside first-half stoppage time when Hal Robson-Kanu rifled home a half-volley after David Forde's punch from a corner had fallen at his feet.

And it was Forde's hesitation which allowed Reading to score a decisive second goal in the 76th minute. Jason Roberts broke clear of the defence and squared to substitute Le Fondre, who was clearly offside earlier in the move, to tap home.

Defeats elsewhere for Coventry and Portsmouth ensured the gap between the Lions and the Championship's bottom three remains six points.

Millwall: Forde, Dunne, Craig, Abdou, Robinson, Lowry, Bouazza (Feeney, 71mins), Wright, Keogh, Kane (N'Guessan, 78mins), Henry (Mason, 82mins).

Reading: Federici, Connolly (Tabb, 46mins), Karacan, Pearce, Leigertwood, Hunt (Le Fondre, 63mins), McAnuff, Gorkss, Robson-Kanu, Harte, Roberts.
