Jackett: Millwall's home form must improve – starting now

KENNY Jackett says it is crucial Millwall pick up three points against Reading at The Den tomorrow before hitting the road for two successive away games.

The Lions welcome the high-flying Royals to SE16 without a win in their last five matches at home, but buoyed by their surprise 3-1 win at Burnley last weekend.

"The home form has to improve," Jackett told the club's official website. "If we want to be a successful club we have to win games at home.

"And that has to start this Saturday. We have to play better and let our performances take care of results.

"Reading are the form side in the division and are doing very well, but for me the opposition are secondary. It's our home game. We want to build on last Saturday's very good victory and pull away or keep the gap between ourselves and the bottom three.

"We have two away games, against Forest and Peterborough, to follow, so this is a vital home game for us.

"If the players lead, the crowd will follow. You could see that against Middlesbrough, where we were really poor in the first half but then made a couple of changes, put on a better second-half performance and the crowd got right behind us.

"But need to do that from the start – we can't wait until the second-half to put on a performance that brings the crowd into play."
