MILLWALL striker Aiden O'Brien scored a debut brace for the Republic of Ireland U21s in a 3-0 win over the Netherlands on Wednesday afternoon.

The 19-year-old bagged both goals before the break, firing his side ahead after 10 minutes and then increasing their advantage shortly before half-time.

O'Brien, who has made one senior appearance for the Lions, opened the scoring when he tapped home Wolves midfielder Anthony Forde's cross at the back post.

He then doubled his tally with another close-range finish after Forde's free-kick had been flicked on by Everton defender Shane Duffy.

O'Brien was forced off with an ankle injury early in the second-half after landing awkwardly as he challenged for a high ball but the problem is not thought to be serious.
