TOTTENHAM have allowed right-back Adam Smith to extend his loan spell at Millwall until the end of the season.
Smith's initial three-month deal with the Lions expired at midnight on Wednesday but the England U21 star trained as normal on Thursday after Spurs gave him the green light to stay in SE16.
Speaking after Millwall's 2-0 defeat to Barnsley, Smith reiterated his desire to finish the campaign at The Den amid speculation that Tottenham were trying to find a Premier League club for him.
And after concrete interest from the top-fligt failed to materialise, Tottenham agreed to the Lions' request to extend Smith's loan until the summer.
Manager Kenny Jackett told the club's official site: "We are delighted Adam is staying. He has been a regular at right-back for us and has done very well.
"We look forward to continuing to work with him and help with his development and football education here."
