Smith reiterates desire to stay at Millwall as loan deal ends

ADAM Smith has reiterated his desire to stay at Millwall until the end of the season after playing the final game of his initial loan deal against Barnsley.

Smith is due to return to White Hart Lane on Thursday but expects to learn before then whether he will be allowed to extend his spell in South London.

Spurs manager André Villas-Boas has revealed he is trying to find a "different solution" for Smith in terms of his next loan move, but the 21-year-old says he is happy where he is.

"I would love to stay," he said. "I'm playing every week and we're playing good football at times. All I want to do as a youngster is play football.

"If a Premier League club came in for me, I would make sure that I would be playing regularly if I went there.

"I would never go somewhere else just to sit on the bench because I could go back to Tottenham and do that. It would be pointless."

Nice to know some people appreciate the work and effort we put into other people's players, I really hope smiths message gets across to His manager but not sure he'll listen. In AVB I do not trust

If the player shows a desire to stay where he is, because he is getting regular first team time, then surley the loan club must listen to him. But im thinking that another club has swooped in and as usual the wall will get seen off.

KJ is a great manager BUT that is all too often over-riden by the fact he is such a tight ar5e!! Never willing to put any money down or take a punt and its already cost us a play off push and unless something is done it will cost us our championship status - this group of players isnt quite up to scratch at this level!!

The lad has been fantastic this season and obviously wants to stay until the summer, why would AVB want him to go somewhere else when the lad is settled and happy. In KJ we trust, in AVB we don't............ COYL

As much as I'd love Adam to stay I would like to develope our own right back.... Maybe trying Osbourne ( played ther for Brentford) there if that doesn't work we'll know we need to spend in the summer and get rid of our very average replacements.

kj never willing to put money down or take a punt? what world are you living in? who signs the cheques? who does the negotiations? NOT KENNY JACKETT. He will identify a player he wants, then the board will say "sorry , AGAIN ken , but we cant afford this one either" FACT is though that we will never sign adam smith on a full time contract because he is worth millions! and players worth millions cost big wages, and we do not pay big wages. This group of players are good enough with the exception of perhaps 2 or 3. we have provede this season that we are 1 decent striker away from the play offs and if we can bring in 1 or 2 faces i think we are comfortably mid table.
