BURNLEY boss Eddie Howe admits he has been impressed with Josh McQuoid's performances since joining the Clarets and has not ruled out the possibility of making his loan move permanent in the summer.

McQuoid has made six apperances for Howe's team since moving to Turf Moor, including an impressive performance against Barnsley in which he provided a crucial assist.

"It's too early, he is still a Millwall player," Howe told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"He's done really well and fitted in really well to the team and what we're trying to build. But as for beyond his loan spell, that's for another day.

"He played a huge part in the first goal [against Barnsley] – it was going in and Jay Rodriguez, like all good strikers, has made sure it was. Josh is a team player, he understands. I thought Josh really did stand out in that game.

"It was his best game for us, playing on the left he linked really well with the centre-forwards and I think his confidence has grown the longer he's been here. He's now part of the team so we're really pleased for him."

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett revealed last week that recalling McQuoid from Lancashire was a possibility, and NewsAtDen understands the issue was broached with Howe following the Lions' 3-1 win on Saturday.
