Exclusive: Millwall close in on deal for QPR striker Hulse

MILLWALL are closing in on a deal to sign QPR striker Rob Hulse on loan until the end of the season, NewsAtDen understands.

Hulse, who played against the Lions in the South London derby with Charlton earlier this campaign, could sign in time to play against Barnsley on Tuesday night.

The 33-year-old was a target for manager Kenny Jackett two summer's ago but he rejected a move to The Den in favour of fighting for a first-team place at Loftus Road.

But he has made just three appearances for the Hoops since then and agreed to join the Addicks for three months at the start of October, during which time he scored three goals in ten starts.

Charlton boss Chris Powell admitted publicly that he was keen to extend Hulse's stay at The Valley but said he could not afford to pay the frontman's wages any longer.

Soon as Jackett said how well Marquis is now doing I had a bad feeling. A bad feeling about Millwall not looking for a permanent transfer fir a quality striker. What we've got is someone who lasted 10 mins and is now out for a month but who's still collecting the wages we're paying him. Now, it's looking like another carthorse is about to adorn the Den. What is going on here ??
We've got the money....Let's get someone in who's worth a million and is not near 'hanging up the boots' age. NOW is the time to invest not later. NOW!!!

He will have to score a hat trick every game to appease some of our fans including me Why, cause he has turned us down at least 3 times in the past so why now, cause NO ONR ELSE wants him

I think its down to the fact he is aware of how much doe we have spare since hendersons departure. He better score some goals if he signs not just nick £15k a week.

I really do hope this is wrong!! Rob Hulse is a woeful striker - I've seen so much of him and he's not impressed since his Crewe days!! Watched him in a friendly for QPR against part timers Buckland..... and he was terrible!! If we sign him he will easily be the worst we've ever had - I'd rather bring back Uwe "The Duvet" Fuchs!!! What a joke!!!

Agreed. Is this the best they can put together. What a crock of ****! Will probably be a crock soon too just like iron mike. Uninspiring to say the least & I bet ambler had a part to play in bringing him here.

My QPR friend says about Hulse "was never good for us, even in the championship"
    In Kenny we trust!

Not happy with this signing one bit, Tyson didn't want to come to us a few years back and now he's desperate he's come here and now the same with hulse, Kenny I have to say you are not looking to reach play offs with these two Stone Age players. There are better players in the lower leagues who we can go for and there are players in the prem better than this donkey!!

Well just to buck the trend Hulse gave Danny more problems in the ir than any other striker at the den this season so if he signs he will give us the presence we need up front not long term solution though.......laughed my socks off just knowing what the reaction will be.... Sheeesh

He seemed ok against us when we played Charlton. I don't think its a bad loan, an as long as all the fans are behind him, the Den will bring out the best of him. I would however like a permanent signing before the window closes, but in KJ and JB we trust. COYL!!!

Millwall sign macron on 3 yr contract,
Was buzzin when I see it thinking "yes get in there come on wall, we've signed a Brazilian"
Then realised it was an extension of the kit makers.

Haha Brazilian!! Personally I think the quality of out kits since macron have been making them has declined ten fold!! At the moment I'm on my 3rd this season! They fall apart!! Anyway back to Hulse... He's gash!

Is this really the best we can do? Sounds like another panic loan to me. What about Clayton Donaldson or someone decent in the lower leagues?? I despair at Millwall sometimes. Who knows if the board really did offer West Brom equal to what Leicester paid? I just get the feeling that we are being fobbed off all the time. What about Morison on loan? Come on Millwall we need to be doing better than this if we want to keep up the promotion challenge.

Yeah if we're messing about with a 33 year old Hulse then might as well give Marquis and/or Wilkinson a go!!

Could be worse than Hulse and rather him than Sears from Colchester, but i would definitely prefer a permanent signing.

I trust KJ. If anyone can get Hulse scoring he will. He may not of done well at Charlton but he wasn't playing with Keogh or Henry. Taylor will do a job with him aswell.

There it is 2 loan strikers with 63 years of ware and tare, Tyson done his ankle within 10 minute of his home debut and out for a month, to be honest I didn't even know he was on the pitch. In Kenny we trust you shown interest in this pair now work your magic COYL

If KJ had sent Tyson straight back to Derby, bringing Hulse in as a stop-gap loan signing would have been more acceptable. There would still have been scope to make a permanent signing with only one of them on the payroll!

Lincoln you've certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons mate, it' doesn't mean I'm not a KJ loyalist just cause I don't agree with spunking the clubs dough on a 33 yr old who's been injured in 6 seasons out of 13 and who's scored over 15 goals a season twice in that time and over 20 once, 128 goals in 425 games, might have been worth a pop 1st time KJ wanted him but we've improved since then and have had better since then. We all want what's best for club but we also want the south london bragging writes at worst come what may. Addicts sniffing up our arses and palace reachable but they're in for every one at minute and players we should be going in for. Just a bit disappointing mate

What a crap signing. I know KJ knows best but this seems like a panic signing, a signing for the sake of it. Hope I'm proven wrong but I doubt it.
