MILLWALL have been boosted by the news that Jack Smith's facial injury is not as serious as first feared.

The Lions defender was involved in a nasty clash of heads with Alan Dunne in training last Thursday, and boss Kenny Jackett admitted he was concerned the 28-year-old had broken his jaw.

But scan results have shown no major damage.

"The good news regarding Jack is that there is no break," club physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official website.

"There are a lot of stitches inside his mouth and on his chin, but he is aiming to train this week."
