Howe hails 'fantastic' Wright goal

BURNLEY boss Eddie Howe admitted Josh Wright's first-half wonder goal came as 'a bolt out of the blue' after Millwall's 3-1 win at Turf Moor.

The Lions midfielder's sensational 30-yard first-time volley put Kenny Jackett's side 2-o up in Lancashire, and the Clarets manager admitted it was a goal worthy of gracing any game.

"It came as bolt out of the blue – a great strike – and you have to give the lad credit because technically it's a fantastic effort," he told reporters after the game.

"In the end we couldn't break them down and were deservedly beaten. We looked open and ragged in the first half and they took the game to us. We were slow out of the traps and conceded a really poor goal. I thought we started well in the second half but the third goal killed us off."
