KENNY Jackett has confirmed that Millwall will not discuss the possibility of extending Darius Henderson's contract until the striker's court case has been resolved.

Henderson, who is facing a charge of causing grievous bodily harm without intent, will stand trial at St Albans Crown Court on March 5 in a hearing scheduled to last three days.

The 31-year-old will be out-of-contract in June and a number of Championship clubs are interested in snapping him up, with Nottingham Forest reported to be leading the chase.

But Jackett says the Lions could yet offer Henderson an extension on his current deal. He said: "We have thought about it. Darius has a court case coming up and we will talk to him after that.

"But we are open [to extending it], definitely. In terms of Forest, I haven't had any calls nor has my chief executive. There is obviously a lot of speculation in January but we have not had any calls."

Henderson missed Millwall's defeat to Burnley on Saturday with a slight knock but Jackett is hopeful of having the frontman available for the FA Cup fourth round tie against Aston Villa.

Jackett said: "He has a foot injury. I think he will be back next week but that injury kept him out of the squad for the Burnley game."

Not only the court case..... Has Hendo played well enough to deserve an extension! I personally don't think he has!!

He always takes 3-4 games to find his form when coming back from an extended period out of the side. True that now is the time we should see his performances improve though. When on form he roughs up defences and scores goals regularly. I would sign him up so long as he stays out of the klink.
