KENNY Jackett believes centre-back Karleigh Osborne could prove to be an important player for Millwall in the years to come.
Osborne was recalled to the starting line-up for the Lions' 1-0 win over Preston in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday and put in an impressive performance to help keep a clean sheet.
The former Brentford star has made just seven appearances this season but Jackett said the 24-year-old's display against the Lillywhites was extremely encouraging.
"I really like Karleigh, I think he's got a really good future ahead of him and I'm pleased he's here," he said. "I have complete confidence in him to play in the Championship.
"He had a bit of a slow start through pre-season but then put in some very good performances. He's been edged out by Danny Shittu and Mark Beevers but he played well against Preston.
"If I can can get other positions in the squad as strong as my centre-backs, we will be a good side."
