HARRY Redknapp says he is unlikely to make a move for Tottenham's Adam Smith during the January transfer window – but admits he is a fan of the Millwall loanee.
QPR and Aston Villa are believed to have enquired to Spurs about signing the 21-year-old when his loan spell at The Den expires later this month.
But Redknapp says Premier League rules, whereby clubs can only sign two British-based players on loan, would prevent him from pushing through a deal.
He said: "I love Smithy as a player and I did not realise his loan at Millwall was coming to an end. That's interesting.
"But I can't really take another player on loan because you're only allowed two, that's the trouble."
