STEVE Mildenhall has joined Bristol Rovers until the end of the season after being recalled from his loan spell at Scunthorpe United.

Mildenhall had made nine appearances for the Iron since moving to Glanford Park in November but has now decided to join the League Two club.

The 33-year-old, who was born in Swindon, was said to want a move to the south west in order to be closer to his family.

Rovers boss John Ward told his club's official site: "We are delighted to have a goalkeeper with Steve's experience on board.

"Given our current league position, I felt that we needed some experience in that position. I know Steve and I am grateful to Kenny Jackett for allowing him to join us."

Elsewhere, Darren Ward is expected to sign a contract with Swindon Town on January 2 on the back of a successful loan spell at the County Ground.

If Mildenhall is happy dropping a division to ply his trade it just goes to show how sh*t it must be living in the north and especially anywhere near Scunthorpe. Good luck mate!
