KENNY Jackett has revealed that Chris Taylor's knee injury is worse than first feared and says the winger could be out for more than a month.
It had been hoped that Taylor could make a speedy recovery after picking up the knock in the 2-2 draw with Brighton earlier this month.
But Jackett does not expect the 24-year-old to feature during January. He confirmed: "Chris' injury is a bit more long-term than we thought. It will probably be February before he returns."
However, Andy Keogh could be fit in time to face Preston in the FA Cup at the weekend after being rested in recent weeks to allow a broken toe to fully heal.
"We will make sure Andy is 100 per cent fit before he plays," Jackett said. "He has a chance of making Saturday – that's how it looks at present. But I won't risk him because he is a key player for us.
"After losing Chris Wood, I think Darius Henderson and Keogh could be a good partnership for us now. He is very close to returning and hopefully he will be back within a week."
