Millwall won't rush Keogh and Taylor back from injury

KENNY Jackett says he will give Andy Keogh and Chris Taylor as long as they need to get over their recent injury problems.

The attacking duo missed Millwall's home defeat to Barnsley on Saturday and Jackett admits both players are major doubts for the forthcoming trip to Cardiff City.

Jackett said: "My first impressions with Chris are that his knee injury may take a few weeks so I don't think he will be fit for the next batch of games.

"We will assess Andy's broken toe again on Thursday and see where we are with him, but getting him fit will take as long as it takes.

"He's been getting by with injections and he hasn't been training but I want to give him this period off and get him 100 per cent fit again.

"What we've been doing with him hasn't quite worked. But he made a big contribution when he came on as a substitute against Leicester and I don't regret that.

"He turned one point into three. If we'd had him against Barnsley, who knows what would have happened."

Midfielder Jimmy Abdou was also absent from the Lions squad at the weekend after returning home to France to look after his ill son.

"Jimmy is on compassionate leave so when he returns very much depends on how his boy is," Jackett said. "We will talk every few days."

Well in KJ,dont make short term injuries into long term injuries, we have replacements anyway such as feeney for c.taylor, and henderson,n'guessean for keogh, and trotter, wright and racon for abdou.Hope abdou son gets well soon,i would rather want him to come back when his son gets better than him coming back early in a bad frame of mind and having to go back again,so overall we are fine replacing them and best wishes to abdou and his family:)Milllllllllllllllllllll
