Millwall boss Jackett buoyed by "big win" over Leicester

KENNY Jackett praised Millwall's "dominant" second-half performance in their 1-0 victory over Leicester City at The Den.

Chris Taylor, who started the game on the bench, stabbed home in the 68th minute of a tight encounter to move the Lions back into the play-off positions in the Championship.

And Jackett said: "It was a big win. We had to weather the storm – Leicester started the game at a good pace and had most of the first 20 minutes.

"But we defended very well in that period. We came through it, started to create some chances and then put in a dominant second-half performance."

And Jackett admitted that Taylor's goal – his second of the season – was the perfect response by the winger to being dropped from the starting line-up.

"I'm pleased the goal came when we were on top because it's a key time," he said. "It gave us something to hold onto, which we did very well.

"I'm pleased for Chris. He's missed a couple of chances recently but has played well for us. That opening, to get the winner, will give him a lot of confidence.

"To come off the bench and make a good impact, physically, and then to get the winner will give him a boost.

"At times, we've needed a different outlet, perhaps a genuine left-footer, but overall Chris has been an addition."

Lowry had a great game. Goes under the radar but put in a performance.

Also Smith shows what a real right back looks like. Quality

Trotter had a better second half, Malone was horrific in the first half I hope he improves. Shittu is just hilarious to watch, counted 3 times one of their players bottled going for the ball because Shittu was coming in for the ball. Lowry has been a great signing, and took the ball to the face like a man!

N'Guessen I thought did really well worked hard and great to see Batman back - he caused problems the moment he came on.
