Squad number: 18
Profile: Born in New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, Wood joined West Brom's youth set-up after being scouted whilst playing for Hamilton Wanderers in his home country.
His prolific goal tallies at each age group of the Baggies' academy saw him quickly progress and Wood got his chance in the first team in the 2008-09 season, after which he signed his first professional contract.
He was then loaned out to Barnsley where he made seven goalless appearances in 2010 before finishing the season at Brighton, where he scored eight in 29 in League One.
After proving he could make an impact in the third tier, then Birmingham manager Chris Hughton offered Wood the chance to step up to the Championship.
He scored nine goals in 23 matches for the Blues, including a hat-trick against Millwall in the 2010-11 season.
He finished the campaign at Bristol City, where he scored the goals in 19 appearances to help the Robins stay in the Championship.
Did you know: Chris has a sister – Chelsey Wood – who also plays football at a high level – she represented New Zealand U20s at the last two Women's World Cups.
