Leeds’ new manager Thomas Christiansen has been busy this summer remodeling the squad and has raided several foreign markets as he looks to build on last season’s seventh-placed finish under now-Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk. Leeds had seemed set to seal a play-off place until a late-season collapse when they won just one of their final eight games and were pipped to a top-six spot by Fulham.

Everton centre-back Matthew Pennington has arrived on loan, another good acquisition for the Yorkshire side. He has played seven games in the Premier League and the number of new signings will raise hopes among Whites fans that a play-off place will be within grasp next season.

Like Leon Slutsky at Hull, Christiansen will have to quickly prove he has what it takes to manage in English football after spells in charge of APOEL and AEK Larnaca in Cyprus.
