MILLWALL could be paired with Premier League opposition when the draw for the second round of the EFL Cup is made on Wednesday night.
The Lions defeated Barnet 4-0 on Tuesday night to secure their place in the next stage where Premier League sides who didn’t qualify for Europe last season enter the competition.
Millwall were knocked out of the League Cup and FA Cup by Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers respectively last season, so this is the first time in Neil Harris’ time in charge that Lions fans can look forward to a potentially lucrative tie against one of the country’s major clubs.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Crystal Palace are potential opponents, while Championship sides Fulham, Wolves and Derby have also made it through to the second round.
The draw will take place on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News HQ after the televised clash between Luton Town and Aston Villa.
