Striker Lee Gregory has not asked to leave Millwall

LEE Gregory has not handed in a transfer request at Millwall.

Speculation over Gregory’s future intensified on Sunday morning after Sky Sports reported he had formally requested to leave the club.

But NewsAtDen understands that is not the case. Millwall have, however, turned down three bids this summer from an unnamed Championship club – thought to be Rotherham United – for the 27-year-old striker.

Millwall have the option to extend Gregory’s current deal, due to expire in 2017, by a further year.

Reports last week suggested Rotherham had bid £1.2million for Gregory. Millers boss Alan Stubbs said: “I can’t speak about individuals that are still at football clubs. It would be wrong to do that. All I will say is that we are trying to be very active right now.”

Gregory, who scored 27 goals last season, is currently in Portugal with the rest of the Millwall squad preparing for the start of the new season on August 6.
