ANDY Keogh and David Forde have been called up for the Republic of Ireland's opening World Cup 2014 qualifier.
The Millwall duo were this morning named in Giovanni Trapattoni 23-man squad for a qualifier against Kazakhstan on September 7 and a friendly against Oman on September 11.
Keogh, who was left out of Ireland's squad for EURO 2012, made a return to the international stage earlier this month as a second-half substitute against Serbia in a friendly in Belgrade.
Forde recently became Trapattoni's second-choice keeper following Shay Given's retirement from international football.
He is expected to be understudy to Sunderland stopper Keiren Westwood during the qualifying campaign.
