STOKE boss Tony Pulis sent his assistant Dave Kemp to watch Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter at Peterborough on Tuesday evening.
The Potters were linked with Trotter over the weekend and NewsAtDen has learned that Kemp was in the stands at London Road on a personal scouting mission.
The Premier League club also had the 23-year-old watched in the Lions' opening two fixtures of the season, against Crawley and Blackpool.
But their interest appears to be coming to a head and Kemp's presence at the match, which the Lions won 2-1, suggests Stoke are considering making a bid for Trotter before the end of the month.
However, Pulis is reported to be closing in on a season-long loan deal for Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone and how that would affect his short-term interest in Trotter remains to be seen.
