LEE Gregory and Shane Ferguson will be assessed before Millwall’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Oldham at The Den on Saturday.

Gregory is struggling with an abdominal problem, while Ferguson’s thigh strain kept him out of the last two games. Fred Onyedinma and Aiden O’Brien will start if Gregory and Ferguson miss out.

“We’ll look at Lee and Shane and just see how it pans out, if there’s a chance then great,” manager Neil Harris said. “If not then we’ll have to prepare them for next week. They’ll be decisions for Friday or Saturday morning.

“Shane was nowhere near ready last Saturday and Lee has had a stomach problem for some time but has played and played and played. But it finally got too much for him and we decided to take him out last weekend.”

Midfielder Shaun Williams serves the last game of his suspension and will be available for the trip to Gillingham on May 8.

While Millwall can still be automatically promoted, or finish in or out of the top six, Oldham secured their League One place for next season with a 1-0 win over Crewe last weekend.

Manager John Sheridan, who has steered the club to safety after they were five points off 20th place when he took over from David Dunn in January, isn’t going to let his players ease off this weekend.

"It will be a tough game but it’s one I’m looking forward to,” Sheridan told Oldham’s website. “We’re going there knowing we are safe so it gives us a bit of freedom and we can test ourselves against a really good team.

"I think Neil Harris has done an excellent job there and it’s his first job, so full credit to him. He’s got a lot of affinity for the club and he was an excellent player as well, so they’re going well and they will be looking to push on and keep winning.

"They will want to finish strong if they are in the play offs but it will be a good test for us. I’ve played there, managed there and I really like going there.

“The fans create an atmosphere there and it’s a good game to be involved in for us.”
