Millwall youngsters seal place in play-offs with Ipswich win

MILLWALL are through to the Professional Development League 2 play-off semi-finals after goals from Kyron Farrell and Joseph Otudeko gave them a 2-0 win at Ipswich Town on Monday afternoon.

Justin Skinner’s U21s will play Huddersfield Town, who finished top of the northern section, for a place in the final.

Midfielder Farrell put Millwall ahead in the fourth minute with a 25-yard deflected drive, before trialist Otudeko, a former Watford underage player, sealed the win with another long-range effort.

Skinner named a strong side, with former Ipswich players Carlos Edwards and Ed Upson joining regular first-team squad members David Forde, Sid Nelson and Jamie Philpot in the starting XI.

The dates for the play-off ties have yet to be confirmed.

Millwall: Forde; Edwards, Nelson, Mbulu, Chesmain; Twardek, Upson, Farrell, White; Philpot, Otudeko. Subs: Brown, Girling, Donovan, Wisson, Leighton.
