KENNY Jackett has defended his decision to drop winger Chris Taylor from his squad for Millwall's Championship opener against Blackpool.
Taylor, who scored three goals in pre-season following his summer move from Oldham, played 60 minutes in the Lions' cup defeat to Crawley last week but was left off the teamsheet for the visit of Ian Holloway's side.
Jackett said: "He just wasn't selected. He has done well in pre-season playing behind the striker but I decided to go with Darius Henderson and Andy Keogh today.
"I then decided to have Shaun Batt as my attacking substitution. It was then a close call between Taylor and Feeney for the wide berth [from the bench] and I decided to go with Feeney."
Tangerines midfielder Thomas Ince bagged a brace as the visitors ran out 2-0 winners.
