MLLWALL have confirmed they have extended Shane Ferguson’s loan deal until January 23.
The 24-year-old played the final game of his initial deal which he signed in August last Saturday, contributing two assists including one for Steve Morison’s late winner as Millwall won 2-1 at Oldham.
The news is a boost for Neil Harris, and Ferguson will now be available for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy area final against Oxford on Thursday.
Harris wants to keep Ferguson at the club long term, and there could be further negotiations with Newcastle to attempt to thrash out a deal that sees the player remain with Millwall until at least the summer.
Ferguson may then want to wait until after his involvement in the European Championships with Northern Ireland to weigh up his long-term options.
