WYCOMBE Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth is expecting a “charged” atmosphere when his side visit The Den on Saturday hoping to cause an FA Cup upset.
The Chairboys lost 1-0 at Millwall in the League Cup last season, but Ainsworth made a winning debut at the ground as a player after joining Wycombe on loan from QPR in 2009.
“I have good memories of my debut at The Den,” he told Wycombe’s website. “We won 2-0 and I remember it well.
“It was the same then as it’s going to be on Saturday. The atmosphere will be charged and we gave them a real good game in the League Cup last year. Ian Holloway was very surprised at the intensity and commitment that the players had got and I’m happy to say that we’ve got that again this year.
“We’ll be taking that with us with nothing to lose. We are going to go there and everyone expects their name to be in the third round and it’s great to be true underdogs.”
