Shittu thanks Millwall boss for giving him a second chance

DANNY Shittu has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by Kenny Jackett after signing a one-year contract with Millwall on Monday.

The defender is set to make his second Lions debut in the League Cup clash against Crawley Town at The Den tonight, having spent a previous spell at the club during the 2010-11 season.

And Shittu is looking forward to playing regular football again after a frustrating spell at QPR.

"I am delighted to have signed for Millwall yesterday," Shittu tweeted. "I would like to thank Kenny Jackett and Andy Ambler.

"I would also like to thank all the fans who have supported me throughout my times. It has been a challenging few seasons for me being at clubs where I was not given a chance by the respective managers.

"But I'm now looking forward to the upcoming season with Millwall, to working hard and being part of a team which can achieve things."

Ambler obviously hasn't told Shittu that Millwall players are banned from using Twitter - but I'm sure he won't mind this tweet

That ban seems to have been forgotten - they are all back on it - which is nice....
