Millwall have injury concerns ahead of Rochdale clash

CENTRE-back Byron Webster will have his fitness assessed before Saturday’s clash with Rochdale after collapsing under a heavy challenge in the last minute against Southend last weekend.

Webster avoided ligament or muscle damage but did suffer heavy bruising in the collision.

Winger Paris Cowan-Hall will miss out, however, after picking up a groin injury in the U21s’ 4-1 win over Coventry on Monday.

There could be concern for Neil Harris in the centre of his defence with Sid Nelson also continuing to be monitored for the rib injury he picked up against Crewe.

Meanwhile Shaun Cummings, who has been out with a hamstring injury, will resume training on Thursday, and attacker Kris Twardek is also returning after recovering from a fracture dislocation of the toe.

@TONY BLOCK28: please explain what makes people back that useless lump webster ! I'm at a loss, have any of you guys watched this lump of wood, no pace, gives away cheap free kicks, gets done on the floor, reads game poorly, when you think back at some of the centre backs we've had this bloke is at best rubbish. bring back robbo, he,s slow but better than this plank !!

@markymfc15: WTF is that all about? Do they think we are going to s*** off Archer? He is the last one who would come in for criticism. Best signing for years IMHO

@markymfc15: yes I thought it odd as well. Him and Carlos probably the two players least likely to get any negative comments from the fans.

Webster injury would allow Harris to keep Craig in the side but have in at CB, where I believe he would do a better job than he's doing at LB.

What hope do we have we said at he start of the season the youngsters could not be relied on in a tough physical league it looks like a struggle to the end of another season

@kell: We might have to accept that this is a consolidation season where the best we can hope for is avoiding relegation, but we will be bringing the young players up to speed for a proper challenge next year. Without further investment, which isn't going to happen now because we are banned from buying until next summer, that is the realistic expectation.

How unlucky is PCH,you can not say he gets injured on purpose. I know some ex pros and all they wanted to do was play, even with an injury and I bet Paris wants to play as well, give the bloke a bit of credit ffs.

@Jim28: Probably unlucky a bit like the curse hanging over us at home. Maybe we should get NH to pee on all the corner flags or sacrifice a chicken or have an blood orgy with a voodoo priestess in the centre circle...maybe then we will not have injuries and win at home!

@Jim28: Hi jim if i recall correctly some Wycombe fans said he was a bit of a sick note,if so Millwall could not have done due diligence on him, otherwise they would have cottened on to that fact, but then that's Millwall for you.

Webster is not a concern, just move TC & play Martin who's fit at LB.
The way we play we don't necessarily use width well but Ferguson can play out wide on the left.
    PCH isn't first choice anyway.

@Millwallsteve: can't play 2 left footed CB's in my opinion.... He'll get Sid back in. TC should be dropped for Martin.

If PCH ia deffo injured then Kris Twardek and Alfie Pavey should be in First Team Subs bench for sure.

another thing is if Bryron Webster is injured bring Sid Nelson or Shaun Cummings back to fill in CB Position

Fred,Joe Martin and Ferguson should play full 90 minute game.

It's a real shame that PCH is so injury prone - when you get a rare glimpse of him you can see he could be a great player. Martin needs to go to Left back when he is fully fit TC isn't quick enough anymore. Need an experienced centre back to work alongside Sid, Archer is an incredible signing and will only get better with time.

Building this young team will take time - there's gunna be times when it's painful to watch but this team will get there.

@block 28: I agree that Twardek looks a very good player. IMO he looks more like the finished article than Fred. Having said that, bit tough bringing him in straight after injury, be good to involve him in a couple of weeks. Bit harsh on PCH, he's certainly not shy in putting himself about. PCH deserves a chance in my book. Pavey deserves a place on the bench; as does Craig! If I were Bomber, I'd be looking for a CB, CM and a striker. I'd also be looking to ship Gregory out on loan. If he's going to make a career in the pro ranks he needs to be playing regular and the truth is he's not good enough at present to play for us.

    Tony Craig dropped for Martin.
Gregory shipped out on loan or get rid in January he's no good.
O'brien and Pavey upfront with Fred upson Williams and Twerdak in midfield. Edwards Nelson new CB and Joe Martin in defence with the obvious archer in goal not rocket science sort it out wall!!!!

I definatly think ed upson is no good at left wing? He's such a quality centre midfielder and I don't know why we can put him and Williams in the centre and then Ferguson and Fred on the left and right...

Good point, what exactly is that much trumpeted recruitment 'department' doing? That bloke from Fulham who came in? Another old pals act from Ambler probably. As fans we can easily point the finger at Harris and his immediate coaching staff but I would offer the notion that there are many behind the scenes who are drawing a decent wage and doing F.cuk all for it.

@Still_Wall: just another set of wage theifs I'm not impressed with what I see so far in terms of people running this club. I don't include Harris in that statement. He was the fans choice. But has been hung out to dry. Are they trying to run millwall into the ground. And move into property development.
