@dave666: Not sure Fred will play Tuesday. By all acounts he was quite ineffective yesterday and was marked out of the game. I think same team but with Ferguson getting the nod.

@NICKOLA: Fred is young learning his trade. He will get chances even if of the bench.

@DanmillwallB: who was the last one to score 3 goals from open play before AOB, didnt 2 of gregs come from the spot last time? lots of hat tricks are scored with at least 1 penalty thrown in, would love to find the answer if we have a statto that knows

Really pleased with this result! Aides was strong last season in the Championship considering his age!! He will be a top striker here.

@block 28: I think that's a good shout Fred on as sub. He is talented needs time Fred. Need at least a draw with archer in goal we look far more comfortable.

    Top drawer Aiden
    Fantastic feet for the third.
Shame we can't show the same composure throughout the team at home.
Glad we're away again on Tuesday as we set up perfect away.
Unbeaten away, tbh I'd take that right now as much as I want us to do it at home as it's shocking at times but we'd probably be in league 2 if it weren't for the results weve picked up away in the past couple yrs.
    Great stuff lads.
Don't know what the fellas name is but he's a f****** unit and is absolutely buzzing right now, he plays upfront for Vale. Sid will have his work cut out containing him, should be a great tussle.

      @lukesmithmfc:

port vale look useful - only lost one game on the opening day and beat Burnley in the cup and held west brom to penalties - you don't do that by accident - we beat crewe who are bottom - this is more of a test

I don't think nelson will play

How many good performances before Carlos should be offered a proper long term contract? Maybe too soon to say he has fully recovered but he sure as hell looked close to his best

Great result for the team and fans on Saturday. Aiden took his hatrick superbly.
One thing that really pleased me was the way Carlos Edwards made that 1st goal happen.
Got the ball, took a man on, nice little one-two, gets the cross in and we score.
He always looks so comfortable with the ball. Great to have him back in the team.

@millwallbuilder: I know what you mean but at his age how long will he be playing for and we still don't really know how stable he is, best just let him work in recovery and form.

you often it said that a team were fortunate to win or draw as the case may be, because their goalkeeper made several good saves, I'd like to say if you have a good goalkeeper in your team and he regularly makes good saves it is no more lucky than a good striker scoring good goals or a defender making a crucial tackle , they're all members of the team and if they performs well it's because they have talent, practices and train hard as do all good players. So if someone says " the goally kept them in the game or if it wasn't for the goally etc " I'd say that's why he's there if a striker puts the ball in the net he helps to win the game same as if the goally keeps the ball out of the net. Yes there are lucky goals and lucky saves but luck had nothing to do with the saves J.A made on Saturday.
