As it happened: Millwall 0-4 Coventry

RELIVE all the action as Millwall fell to a heavy defeat in their first league game at home this season.

The Lions were taken apart by a classy Coventry City side for whom striker Adam Armstrong was in devastating form as he scored his third and fourth goals of the season.

Millwall improved marginally after the break but Jim O'Brien added a fourth goal ten minutes from time to complete the Lions' misery.

@southstandview: well Harris said if the players can't handle playing at home they would be left out so looking forward to Tuesday nights team news and I agree our midfield is too lightweight for this division.

    Dear David Forde,

That round bouncy thing is called a football.

Millwall football club pay you a lot of money to stop that round thing from going into that rectangular white thing behind you.

It's fairly easy to do because believe or not your aloud to use your hands to stop it!!!

Anytime you need more advise let me know.

    Hope this helps

Lets put all the blame on Forde. Nobody else is to blame, only Forde. Defense are brilliant, midfield are the most dynamic we have ever had. Manager team are spot on with their tactics and of cause we have a world class attack. But Forde. Its ALL his fault. FFS, give me a break.

Said before the season started, 15th place finish likely and it will take about 5 years to get back up. Getting thrashed not pleasant, but good experience for a young team that'll do well in a year or two.

Anyone thinking we'd bounce back up - what are you taking??

I GOT SLAGGED OFF FOR SAYING THIS 3 DAYS AGO---
    Webster is crap.
Beevers is no left back in fact he's not a defender of any note at all.
Why Ferguson is on the bench is anyones guess.
Second half-a 15 min 'Have a go' from Millwall then 0-4 or worse.

reality check, L1 wont be a walk in the park, Coventry have a decent forward from Newcastle.
maybe after taking us apart and Wigan, Coventry are the team to walk this division and we have come across the champs early on.

That aside, Forde is getting worse every game at the moment, dropping him may spark him into action (Maik Taylor did that)
    Beevers is no LB
Nelson should surely be playing, if NH played him every game last season why is he now out of the 1st team?
Cummings i dont think knows how to be a RB, CM have no bite at all, get someone in there to get stuck in and break stuff down or someone that makes things happen, Martin (i dont know), Fred too much pressure is gonna put on this kid, Is Morison playing? Gregory conference player couldnt make the jump to Championship, is L2 his level????

Harris legend but is he a manager? we should have got a proper manager in the summer and had him train under him learning it all. He will get stitched up.

JB put lots in, written off debt but where are we going under his reign??

It will take a lot more than Ford out most of the team are conference level and would struggle their Millwall no investment means standards will drop and drop til we are in non league it's happened to bigger clubs than us can't see any way back although I agree we should get Geroge Graham in to help at any cost at least he would build from the back

@LETEMCOME: the point i made, Coventry may be that good and smash this league and we just played the best this division has, lets judge after 10 games, i agree with dropping forde for the next 8 games, lets get a LB in place and Jimmy In CM and have A O'B as a better alternative to Marquis.

if we a floundering after 10 games then make some real noise, but lets not put s*** off when its too late like last season

Too much s**** to sift through today tbh...but one of the major disappointments so far has been Williams....today an Tuesday against Barnet he's looked lazy, disinterested, an well off the pace...I thought he would be too good for this league but he's looked two bob so far an it annoyed the hell out of me today when Harris took off Upson over him as at least Upson was trying to make things happen...remember it was coco that said he could play in midfield rather than at centre half but i just dont think he makes enough happen in the middle of the park to play there...either put him at CB or drop him cos I would definitely play upson an Powell on Tuesday night. ..

Said from the end of last season that mid table in league 1 with out budget would be result, it will take us a good few years to get out this Div, Bomber has his limitations but I'm sure he'll have us winning more than we lose. Perfect opportunity to drop forde/Beevers, bring in archer, fergie and maybe drop Martin for Paris and bulk up the midfield with a tackler at least - when's JA back?

Don't think upson was poor just think he is trying to do 2 players work as Williams at the moment is non existent and brings nothing to the team not a great forde fan bit most keepers would have been beaten by that chip Harris needs to make changes Ferguson and would like to see Carlos start along with maybe Powell in middle fortress den is a long way off let's hope we get there before the titanic sinks again

This cannot go on, the defending was a shambles last year and it is the same now. I made the suggestion of a return of George Graham not as a player but as a defence coach but even as a player (he is 71!) he would probably be an improvement .
This is not one player's fault, it is the team and its organisation. Heaven knows why people kept on about getting a centre forward when defenders are cheaper and the defence has been consistently pathetic. Stop worrying about scoring goals and start worrying about having an organised defence.
