MILLWALL striker Aiden O’Brien will miss all of August with ruptured ankle ligaments.

The 21-year-old was stretched off after only 15 minutes of Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Wimbledon, and scans have confirmed the extent of O’Brien’s injury.

O’Brien rolled his ankle in a challenge with Dons captain Barry Fuller as the forward bared down on goal.

Neil Harris told NewsAtDen: ”He's been for a scan, we've waited for the report on that.

“The injury he's got  is ruptured ankle ligaments.”

“Fingers crossed with the bad luck of the injury, there's good news that it heals faster and healthier.”

O'Brien tweeted a photo of the incident on Sunday evening, pointing out he will be back in better condition than before the injury occurred.

      @beethoven5:

      Gregs already has a dodgy knee - plenty of time to aggravate that !!!!

      we can go with marquis lone striker then and grind out draws with Shrewsbury and Barnet - oh I forgot, we have Pavey !!!

      Harris says the sprit is good in the camp - it had better be

      @S.A.S: There is no money, if we had money they would have replaced the score board...still a light blue structure that you can see through to the pitch!

    I feel very sorry for O'Brien but it could be a blessing in disguise as Bomber must replace him with a striker soonest. The Hanson bids fell through but I'm sure there are other irons in the fire lined-up. I just hope we get somebody now rather than later.

      @Bolland: I see Adam Le Fondre is surplas at Cardiff for a mere 500 000 can we afford his wages a proven goal scorer at this level but would he want to come here Bomer could try to schmose him and the Millwall Board

        @OTIS:
        Le Fondre would be great except that he plays off a big man wich I think is Gregory's role playing off O'Brien. Either way, Le Fondre may be out of our price range.

    Surely this misfortune for O`Brien is the trigger for Neil to get in another striker ?

    Huge blow, simple as that. I thought we were in serious need of another forward before, now we are in desperate need! I just hope its a standard 6 weeks and he's back, not one that lingers on and off for 3 months. I just hope the clubs of the strikers we are bidding for, dont hold us for ransom now they know we're short on the ground!!

    You got to wonder - would our players incur these sorts injuries during pre-season every year if we didn't always end up playing lower league to non-league opposition? What if we played some prem opponents or some half decent overseas teams like a lot of other teams do.. In AoB case it just seems to be plain misfortune but in cases gone by for example Sean Batt... I tend to end up dreading these pre-season clogger games because win, lose or draw Millwall always come out the losers when key players get injured!

    Love Harris love Millwall but I've been supporting this team for over 40 years and the signs are there. No investment, no strikers, no experience means no chance. We have one of the biggest budgets in the division my a***.

        @Jim28:I don't hear anymore b******* from JB or Ambler about backing the manager. Either give Harris some money or shut up and say nothing. I would get Morrison back. He could do a job in this division.

    Here you go - AFC Wimbledon will seek more than £250,000 for prolific teenage striker Daniel Agyei - whoever he signs for.

    So Aiden's ankle is now f***** and we can only presume that, even if he's back in 6 weeks, that this will be some sort of issue for him for the rest of the season. Add this to Gregory's knee which is still a bit touch and go, surely it's suicide not to invest in another striker now?

    Understand that our finances may be an issue but surely it's gonna end up costing more in loses for us to remain in this division for another season than £500k or so for a proven CF?

        @LETEMCOME: And if he doesn't perform we are back with a surplus as with CoCo. Did he really want to be with us last time? We have to find one that fits in with our style which is never say die, not get injured every other week I mean!

    Bomber played with Moro and knows him well. injurey is a chance you take with any player and there are not many players as good as him who we can get,if we can get him. When he is played in his preferd role,under a proper manger not like the last couple of muppets you will see a better player IMO. Who else is there.

      @LETEMCOME: Agree, i admit i am a Morrison fan, i thought he put in a great shift last time here, it was holloway who didnt have a clue how to play him and thats why Morrison looked fed up and frustrated when long high balls were thumped up to him ! not being at our club. Fingers crossed from me that we get him. I am just a long time supporter, i dont fully understand some of the posts on here about JB and his loans to the club etc. i do know not many chairman walk away from their clubs a poorer man !! as i have said before, imo we are ok from goalkeepers, defence and midfield, but one or two 'quality' strikers would 'lift' the club and give us a swagger , and every team that has goalscorers always has a chance! something we have not had for a few seasons...

    I would like to see Millwall sign Wimbledon;s striker Agyei, just the ticket and young too. Would Morrison want high wages? He if I remember can be a bit moody and missed a few chances last time he played.

    Would love to see Morison back. Always been a big fan of his. He's just what we need as well - can hold up the ball better than most, win balls in the air and stick the ball in the back of the net. Also provides some experience to help the younger kids, and like Greggers came from non-league so should be able to help him progress too.

    Shame for A.OB, hope he recovers quickly.

    Gutted for Aiden for obvious reasons, silver linigsif there are any. Hopefully at least he should recover quickly being young and touch wood ahead of schedule.

    In the meantime we could do a lot worse with Moro as we've got the tee-shirt with him, beats me where the money has vanished too with our third Hanson bid being accepted - doh!
