Mick Harford's time at Millwall has come to an end, with the club appointing Terry Bullivant as their new chief scout.

Bullivant has previously worked in coaching and scouting capacities with Crystal Palace, Reading, Brentford and Watford.

He was born in Lambeth and played over 100 times for Fulham as a midfielder.

He takes over from Harford, who had been working in the position since June 2013, the club have confirmed.

The biggest oxygen thief at Millwall since IH. Glad he's finally gone. Long overdue. What i'd like to know, is what exactly it is he did for us, to justify his wages?

Another example of poor recruitment, what next this new head of recruitment Andrew somebody? ,
Striker a priority, not my words but N Harrises , plus midfielder ,we were supposed to have at least one in place for the trip to Portugal, speaks volumes doesn't it ??.

@The Roar: well another preseason of star signings says it all ambition of this club they have now reduced the wage bill massively getting rid of dead wood and parasites that drained club financially but trying to attract decent players to wall paying peanuts in wages is not going to work either. John marquis is only on 1,800 week for a striker people wonder why Henson didn't sign from Bradford .we all know as fans u have to pay top dollar for quality as long as each player gives 100 percent every week on pitch we all happy unless we invest it's going to be long hard season and crowds home games gates will soon average 7,000

Hartford was a bad omen the first time he came to us during the Tuttle era and '06 relegation. Came back again and we find ourselves in yet another relegation disaster... Now let's get some quality players in through the doors, one more striker at least and a left winger both at the list. Sheffield United seem to be doing alright on that front Woolford and looks like Sharp being added to their ranks. Don't mind a smaller squad but it needs some quality experience of the 24-29 age group if at all possible otherwise it's to much pressure on the young players shoulders to expect them all to be wedge together and be winning majority of games this coming season

Bullivant knows his stuff but its one thing spotting a player and another actually shelling out for one. With our budget you will see him down Southwark park.

We lost £10m last year so we are not shelling out for anyone who costs more than I couple of thousand. That's the facts chaps, so let's hope the kids come good.

I am not to disappointed to see the back of him to be honest. I cannot remember any players he suggested to bring in?
As for ourselves I am sorry to say we have gone along way back and it just goes to prove what a great job Kenny Jackett did for Millwall on a shoestring and he could not go any further with the squad he had at the time without some cash injection to bring quality players to the club.
Yes we know Lomas and CoCo messed up but I can only make them 50% to blame as you need to invest in the championship to compete at that level we never and look where we are league one.
I do not think for one minute JB will put his hand in his pocket as Millwall again lost another 8 mil last season. Lets be honest he is a business man and he cannot sell and lose all the money he has loaned the club so he carries on spending money on legal battles with Lewisham council to try and get planning permission to regenerate the area that is what he is looking for and recoup some of his investment. As for the Football sorry to say he is not interested if you were running a business at a loss year after year you would pull the plug on it he can't as he has no assets to sell or what he has got will not bring in any big money.
We have made 3 free transfer signings and other teams in Division one are serious on getting out of this league. Unfortunately Neil Harris as got a big job on is hands and without any money to spend on quality we are again looking a mid table in Division one at best. The only way you win games is by scoring and who have we got who can score goals. I do agree with a comment last night I think this is the worse squad of Millwall players for some years as we cannot relay on the kids pulling us through it wont happen as players like Fred 18 will have dips in form and come on Marquis sorry to say he had his opportunity previously under KJ and never really took it. I will still go to games to watch and I hope I am proved wrong but until we buy some decent quality players 2-3 we will not be going anywhere fast. Letting Woolford go was a mistake not to worried about all the others who got the chop as Bailey was always injured so needed to go the Hoff what a waste of time and Fuller after his rant at one of our supporters at an away game should have had his marching orders earlier. Come on Millwall wake up and smell the coffee other teams in Div one are buying whilst we stay static?????

@fashs forearm: I agree with you, getting rid of your chief scout in the middle of a transfer window tells me that Mick might no have adapted well to the new recruitment strategy. Did he get in with the new head and clothe database they are building?@kell:

The timing of this announcement strikes me as a bit strange, it suggests there's more to this than we are being told-personality clash somewhere perhaps? Anyway I'm all for wiping the slate clean although all we have heard constantly from the club is how good our recruitment is, how the fitness coaches have the latest hi-tech equipment, how important it is to have good coaches blah blah blah yet recent results speak for themselves.I dread to think how much money is being spent on Andrew mills and co, as well as the fitness experts, these people behind the scenes need to up their game and quickly, just as much as any of the players do.

So much for the 3-4 transfer targets we had for each position we had highlighted that need reinforcing still they have sold season tickets on the b******* we have been listing to for the last 40 years going back to good old Benny Fenton

Another pisshead or pisstaker, depending on your opinion who's been found out. Just like those 18 that got the heave-ho at the end of the season. Chaplow to ? and Woolford off to Sheff Utd. League one players and scouts feigning their attributes but found out when the contracts run dry.
Now, Maybe, just maybe, Ambler will get the red card and we can all rejoice that FINALLY, we've got a club where people who work for it know what they're doing.

@NICKOLA: I wouldn't class Dunne, Magaye Gueye, Shittu and Woolford in the 18 who got the 'heave-ho' as pisstakers. I admit none of them were world class but we should've tried to have kept hold of Gueye and Woolford who I think would have done a good job for us in Div 1. Shittu too old but not a pisstaker. My opinion obviously.

Best bit of news I have heard so far this season apart from the form of the up and coming youngsters like Fred. The club desperately needed a new chief scout and scouting system. Whether Bullivant will be in the Bob Pearson class will remain to be seen

Its nice to hear some good news - Harford had no skill or talent as a footballer he was a poor mans version of that lowlife Micky Quimm who played for Newcastle....
As for Harford as a coach we may as well have had Ambler doing that as well to save on his wages!
