Millwall's Cowan-Hall won't be ready for pre-season games

PARIS Cowan-Hall looks set to miss the start of Millwall’s pre-season friendly programme.

The 24-year-old did not travel with the rest of the squad to Portugal this week after picking up a calf injury during the squad’s preparations at Calmont Road.

He will now not be able to take part in next week’s fixtures at Bromley on Tuesday and AFC Wimbledon the following Saturday.

With the Sky Bet League One campaign kicking off in exactly one month, it is another blow for a player who had a frustrating time with injuries last season.

Since he joined from Wycombe last January he has been limited to just five appearances in the league.

He suffered a hairline fracture of his tibia and damaged a knee ligament against Reading in January and then picked up a knock against Bolton in March as he was being eased back into the side.

Harris put those blows down to the winger's combativeness and now he faces another spell working his way back to full fitness.

Speaking to the club’s website, physio Bobby Bacic said: “Paris’ previous injuries have all been due to collisions: twice in matches and once in full contact training. This one, however, was during a pure running session so he will be doing extra conditioning and strength work over the next few weeks before he rejoins the main group.”

Some things never change and that is Millwall will have 4 or 5 injuries before the season starts. As for PCH I think he'll be lucky to play 10 times this season.

I was wondering when we'd hear that old Plaster of Paris was crocked again, although must admit, I thought he'd at least come through the first couple of weeks of pre-season training unscathed!
What a shame because he looks to be just the player we need right now, really hope he doesn't turn out to be the sort of kid plagued by one injury after another but it doesn't look too encouraging, hope we've got some back up lined up...

If he's already getting injured in training wait until he comes up against a few of the backs in Div 1! Won't be seeing much of him then this season.

FFS what is it with some of these players? Years ago there was none of this carry on, every week at ten to three the same qA

Mold 12/13 players would run out, a bit of stretching, a few shots at the keeper and bosh, off they'd go, 90 minutes of sheer blood and thunder. Backache is forever telling us about the latest technology- GPS, heart monitors, ice baths(?) 'warm weather training' and so on, yet this bloke has just had two months off and literally before a ball is kicked is injured!!

Mind you in Paris' case they should have a word about the trousers he goes round in, I saw him in the car park after one game last year ( he was out injured obviously) and his strides looked like they'd been sprayed on. I haven't seen a pair jeans that tight since I looked at the away end when we played Leeds in 1985. No wonder he's always crocked- no circulation, maybe we should get young Sid to have a word- sort him out a proper pair of sensible South London strides.

@Still_Wall: Glad you made the point of how players used to run out, a few passes to each other, and off they go ! now they 'warm up' for half an hour sprints, shooting, piggy in the middle etc, and are then knackerd with 15 mins to go of the match FFS. wish we would buck the trend, and thats all it is, and let the players do a gentle warm so they put in a full 95 mins plus !!!! it would also scare the f*** out of the opposition wondering what is going on.. just a thought!

I hate to say this as clearly this player has talent, however,, his heart and attitude is certainly questionable. I am not confident we will see much of him next season. The thought that a club of our size is paying for this talent just to sit in the treatment room pi**es me off.
I am fed up of players like this taken advantage of our club. Let's cut our losses and get rid.

there is no excuse for players to get injured when training, the photos of them having practice games they never seem to wear any protection as they would in a match, which to my mind is bloody stupid.a pair of shin guards is no great problem to wear when training and would cut down on training injuries.

      @butty:
How many players injure their shins in training ? Pointless to make them wear shin pads. Weird suggestion.
