Millwall announce minor changes to away kick-off times

n_harris

MILLWALL have announced changes to the kick-off times for their away games at Sheffield United and Southend United.

The Lions will now play the Blades at 12.15pm on Saturday, October 24 instead of at 3pm.

There is also a minor change to the Christmas schedule with the game at Roots Hall kicking off on Monday, December 28 at 1pm rather than 3pm.

Meanwhile Shrewsbury Town have confirmed that the opening league game of the season against Neil Harris' side will be an all-ticket affair.

Lions fans will be required to buy tickets through Millwall after they have been sent out. None will be available on the day.

The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, August 8.

@block 28: It's very rarely the club who chose to change the kick off time, normally the local police who change it for security reasons...so suggesting that 'Millwall don't give a f*** about the fans' is a moronic statement to make. I'm pretty sure the club regularly announces its frustration at the way our fans are treated, especially with things like the stupid situation we have to deal with when going to Leeds. granted Sheffield is a bit of a trek, but Southend is hardly miles away.

After what happened when we last got to Wembley, it's hardly surprising that some local police would want to make the kick off time a bit earlier....

@Jim28: Given that Luton was 30 years ago and Wembley only 2, you can hardly compare the two.

And thank you for that excellent counter-argument, I was only defending the club that you both claim to support while slagging them off every two minutes...luckily most people on here at least try and stay positive about their club and you remain as a small minority.

@82wall: when I spoke to football intelegence last season they said both clubs have to agree.

@block 28: @block 28: Both clubs only have to agree if the move of KO time/Date is to benefit one of the clubs. If the police move the KO times then neither club can do anything about it - but hey, why let the truth get in the way when you can just slate the club.

What difference is it really going to make?! Southend's down the road and we'll have to get an early start for sheff u! Those hardships will mean nothing provided we have a better season than last! Change the KO times "no one likes us we don't care" we'll still take 6 points and a big f*** you to the local constabulary!! COYL!

First time on this site, the only reason that Sheffield United game was changed is because of the derby game between Wednesday and Rotherham on sameday cool

@jenko: So we were just unfortunate that our game clashes with another local derby, this make perfect sense to me, the conspiracy theorists will have to concoct another load of old baloney which they can blame the club for...haha

@glyngo: just wait for more excuses, such as there shutting all railway stations and motorways heading north when mfc r scheduled to visit due to terrorist threats or something, u must play on a Sunday morning at ten of clock whilst they r praying

I think NAD ran this story (which is a bit of a nothing) because the previous story about missing out on the targets had gone pretty toxic.

With IH there was ALWAYS a quote or a story. Much of which was b****x (like the Willy Wonka nonsense). If it wasn't him, some poor player was put up for a story. It got silly and after a little while you realised it was just talk.

The evidence on the field is what counts. Nothing could disguise that.

I'd rather get some decent news every 2 or 3 days in the close season. There's no need for a daily briefing - it's all very thin as you'd expect at present.

@kitch: News papers, websites have to keep publishing so there's no surprise that there will be meaningless stories from time to time. Wait till the transfer window opens and then we'll see some decent news. I am interested to see how advanced the alternative striker negotiations were going though, I hope that our eggs weren't firmly nestled in the Hanson basket.

Excellent! At least they've heard of us. Not surprised by this are we? It's not as if we have to pick our tickets up at a motorway service station so this is great progress :) Things aren't a bed of roses for us, 3rd division, no great prospect of promotion, no marquee signings etc. - but still a million times better than supporting a plastic premiership mob. Real football, real fans and it's still our Millwall - frustrations 'n' all that's what we will always have. Love my club through thin and thinner and at least NH knows us and our club matters to him. Onwards and sideways.....COYL....

couldn't give a figg about kick-off times, parr for the course, looking forward to watching the young lads develop into decent players, not thinking about promotion, after the last 3 seasons of turge, if we get near the play-offs it will be an ok season. our young team will need time and support, can't wait to see the boys at wombledoom in 3 weeks, only one pub near the ground so get there early!!
