MILLWALL defender Mahlon Romeo played the full 90 minutes in Antigua & Barbuda’s extraordinary World Cup qualifying win away to St Lucia last night.

The Caribbean country, with a population of just 90,000, had lost the first leg of their second round tie 3-1 at home last week.

But they gave themselves a slight chance of recovering that deficit when captain Joshua Parker gave them the lead on the night in the 70th minute.

However, Kurt Frederick looked to have sealed St Lucia’s place in the third round of the CONCACAF section of the qualification series when he levelled from the spot to make it 4-2 on aggregate with just eight minutes left.

What happened next, though, was incredible.

Antigua & Barbuda are in yellow and Romeo, who started at right-back, is wearing the number 17 shirt, seen in the video below.

@LETEMCOME: haha, practically the first thing he says: passes to number 17 who I think is lucky to still be on the pitch. Sounds like a wall type of defender.

Urgent message to Neil Harris, whilst an attractive trip, any thoughts of a scouting mission to St. Lucia to look at the goalie or the full backs will not be viewed kindly.

The moment they said our lad number 17 is lucky to still be on the pitch I warmed to him straight away secondly who is Joshuia parker he looks like a decent player maybe worth a look , and as for the the commentators I would much rather hear them on MOTD pure class you know they were half way through a big bottle of rum and in the middle of a game of cards whilst trying to keep up with the game .

Genius commentator. One of them was trying to do the job, the other guy was like some drunk bloke in the crowd - who is that? - was the best moment - mate you don't know the name of any of them players. Also loved the St Lucians refusing to kick off at the end.
