Woolford: Neil Harris will be a successful Millwall manager

RELEASED midfielder Martyn Woolford feels Neil Harris is a "perfect fit" for Millwall.

Woolford signed off his Lions career by playing the full 90 minutes in the draw with Derby before being told he wouldn't be offered a new contract.

And Woolford has also said he will stay abreast of Millwall's progress under Harris and feels the new boss will be a success down The Den.

“I think Neil will do a great job," Woolford said. "He’s a top man.

"We parted on very good terms so I’ll always wish him all the best.

“I think Millwall will do really well under him. He knows what it means to be playing for Millwall himself, so he knows what is expected of his players when putting on a Millwall shirt.

"That translates to the crowd, they appreciate what they are seeing so I think it's a perfect match all round, and I'm sure he will be successful there."

"I always look out for old clubs and team mates," Woolford added. "So I'll be keeping an eye on Millwall next season."

What a refreshing change, a player leaving an thanking his previous club, rather than going on instagram or twitter and slagging them off. Class act Woolford, good luck to you.

@Josh: @glyngo: Agree. Some of the comments that we've been privvy to coming from ex players are a disgrace, Better off without them.

Woolford is one of the players i was dissapointed not to see on the retained list, think he would've done the job if he was played in an advanced midfield role especially in L1. However, trust Harris' judgement. All the best to you Marytn, what a chap.

He knows the stick ex players get on their return, he is paving the way as a winger to not get as much abuse lol

@dave666: It's all panto , our lot give a load of gob to current players they actually like, all part of the game.
Woolford will get banter on his return and he knows it.

Ye, he's definitely good enough for the Championship. He was one of the few tryers last season. Top fellah.

It's late but couldn't resist it.
Talking about ex-players. Did you hear that Shittu has opened up a car dealership? Apparently, he sat on it.

Nice words but not a Wall player any more so will give him dogs when he scores against us, cause you know it will happen if he plays in L1.
