MILLWALL youngster Jamie Philpot has had succesful surgery on a torn meniscus.

The striker suffered the knee injury in the 4-2 defeat to Wolves at Molineux on the final day of the season.

Philpott scored with his first touch against Kenny Jackett's side but his debut was cut-short after only eight minutes by injury.

A meniscectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of a torn meniscus, or cartilage.

And Philpot has said, via his Twitter page, that the procedure went well.

Sounds like a minor tear, he should recover 100% at his age. Fingers crossed!

Take it easy and get better soon. You'll be running around soon enough.

    Could have been a lot worse - at least it's not a peniscectomy . . .
