Millwall midfielder Bailey training ahead of Charlton clash

NICKY Bailey has returned to full training ahead of a possible reunion with former club Charlton on Good Friday.

Bailey, who has made just three first-team appearances this season, suffered a back spasm during the Lions' 4-1 defeat to Norwich City.

The midfielder was returning from a series of calf injuries against the Canaries but was forced off at half time.

But the 30-year-old could now be in contention for a place in Neil Harris' squad for Millwall's south London derby with the Addicks.

Too soon to play in place of Williams I think, even though the lad needs a break.

@glyngo: He's had every other kind of injury since he arrived here so yes he probably does need a break then he will have the whole set.

@block 28: don't know why we bother with injury - prone players.it's been said before, the medical staff need sorting out, it's down to them!anyway let's get the 3 x points against Charlton.( NOLU,WDC).

@BUSHWACKER14: It might have more to do with our transfer policy - bringing in so many free-transfers that no-one else wants or are already knackered.

He might make the bench, but he was well off the pace against norwich, which was no surprise, and was another crap decision by holloway !

@norris: I can't understand why his name keeps coming up in relation to team selection, he has never been fully fit since he has been here, when he eventually gets as far as the pitch he is so far off the pace that he is a liability, plays crap for 25mins then out injured again or sent off. Put him out of his and our misery and pension him off, after all he is hardly the future.

Keep him in the U21s to prove his fitness. I bet he can't manage 2 games in a row. There's no way in my opinion he should even make the bench against the anoraks.
He's got the right attitude and really could've done well for us but , his body's let him down time and time again.
The best he can hope for next season is a pay per play contract.

Remember he has to make it from his car to the dressing room down the tunnel and on to the pitch with out getting injured its a Big ask , also he shouldn't walk straight back in to the team in my view if he is not going to be here next season .

When I read the first two lines I thought great, Charlton are taking him off our hands. What a let down when I read the last two lines.

Bomber, do everyone a favour and drop this oxygen thief. Complete drain on the club since his arrival. Came with this hard man central midfield enforcer reputation but couldn't dominate an U12's match. Total waste of time and space.

Stay in the changing room Bailey. Don't expect any favours just coz it's your former team. Leave him out Bomber - permanently!

When he was on a run in the team, and yes he did play for a few games in a row last season although many have forgotten that, his performances were good as was his effort. His big crime appears to be that he is injury prone. That's harsh criticism in my opinion. Time is running out for him though, he would have to play every game and play well for me to want to see him at the club next season.

@glyngo: We were sold a dud, he has played around 15 games ( give or take a couple) since his arrival here and even the games he played in how many of those was he fully fit. Whether he is the unluckiest player on the planet or just a malingerer he is one of the top payed here, I was going to say earners but he has earned very little of that, the clubs money is being heamorraged away with very little in return. If he was a car he would have been crushed a long time ago. I know people will say that his return was instumental in our survival last season but wasn't that what he is paid for? For a so called hardman enforcer he is surprisingly fragile. I think Hurlock would be laughing his socks off at that pussey.

Given we are fighting for our lives and need to get on a run of wins until the end of the season I don't think now is the time for Bailey. Would leave out of the squad and get him focused on next season whether that be with us or another club. No room for sentiments in this vitally important period of the next 7 games.

@Bexley_Lion: guess he'll be fully fit for august. So that will be a transfer, then come back with another team, have a blinder, and score the winner.

Interested to see what happens regarding Dunne.
Harris will lose a lot of goodwill if he starts him on Saturday.(I think his suspension is finished ).
If he is ready for management then he has to make the best decision for the team and not play someone out of loyalty.
This will be his biggest management decision so far.

@Jim28: Haven't heard that about Livermore but what scares me is that Dunne could still be active within Millwall. What's he going to bring to the table? Defensive coach?
Time to get rid off once and for all.

It's going to be Harris and Robbo.
They have been planning it for a few years.
    Great combination.
