Preview: Nottingham Forest vs. Millwall

ALAN Dunne and Mark Beevers look set to return to Millwall's defence for Saturday's clash against Stuart Pearce's Nottingham Forest.

Lions boss Ian Holloway will be forced to reshuffle his back four with Sid Nelson suspended after his red card against Reading and Dan Harding ineligible to face his parent club.

Dunne performed well as a second-half substitute against the Royals on Tuesday, helping Millwall to preserve a clean sheet, and he is likely to replace Nelson in the starting XI.

Left-sided Beevers is the obvious candidate to fill the gap left by Harding's absence.

Long-term absentees Nicky Bailey and Carlos Edwards are no closer to returning.

Forest hope to welcome back Matty Fryatt after a month-long injury lay-off.

However, Pearce is without Dexter Blackstock, Michael Mancienne, Chris Cohen and Andy Reid.

their back 4 is f*****, lets get after them, plus reid is out which is a bonus as he always manages to score against us. we are 4/1 , after the other night i feel a little more optimistic about our chances, nick the points and that will do. we did it last season at theirs so why not this term.

Dunne at centre back - not confident about him rather than Webster, although Reid's injury is good news as he always plays a blinder against us

@junkmale: Not a fan of Dunne at CB, but he did OK in second half against Reading (OK but not great, as he cannot play the ball out from the back), and as Beevers and Webster are left footed then Dunne will most probably start. As long as De Hoover is alongside him and Beevers (giving constant instructions) we will be OK.

Just hope that PCH starts on right flank as Gueye in that position is so easy to mark out of the game, as he only has a left foot and starting out from the touchline he only has one way to go - INSIDE......either has to play left side or be positioned further infield

      3-1 to Wall

@eio: You quite often get two right-footed centre backs in a team, so I can't see why playing two left-footers would be an issue.

@eio: agree with you on both points, PCH is a proper RW and hopefully he'll be in full swing soon. Felt Gueye was wasted in that position too - as you said - a more central role suits him best.. The lad likes to run at players and have a shot, so whatever position allows him to do that - put him there I say! COYL!

4-0 hiding , reid to score from treatment table . Cant c us winning again this season, this will go down as one of the worst, players couldn't give a t***. F:#k all the hangers on and get rid. Sometimes a good season in a lower division can be more financially beneficial , than a poor season in a higher div. Go on Wall prove me wrong! Rant over.

It was always on the cards we would losing Harding for the Forest game. So with no other LB on the books wouldn't it had been sensible to hold on to Briggs for a further week, or was Beevers always planned to play there. Beevers is not a LB, Dunne is nor a CB so will we see them switch?

hard to see a win - how many goals can we score?

my worry is the exertion of tuesday -- forest had a week off

i am sure i saw Jos limping a bit at the end and williams took a blow - others have to step up when called on - yes gueye is limited on the wing - he has proven a good impact sub a couple of times this year - last 20 mins

I not sure about dunne playing and Webster can f*** off so... I would play shittu to add strength to the back four plus I think we will have another good game but we just need to score more goals. Try Play Cowan-hall up front.

      @lionheart:
Very uneducated on the millwall front if you won't go again because dunne is playing. He might not be any good but your talking about one of the most loyal, hard working blokes to EVER wear our shirt. Only 5 people have made more millwall appearances than him. I think some people make up a number to try and make their point seem more valid.45 years? Probably more like 4 OR 5 years.

@lionheart: lion, give yourself a couple mins then you'll have a clearer mind. 2 defenders are out for a game, one is a left back so beevers has to play left back done it a few times and didn't do much wrong. Dunne, like you isn't and hasn't been a favourite of mine but that said when he's been left out and called upon for a game or two he seems to have a really good game and fortunately or unfortunately today is one of those days. Come next week he's back on the bench.
      Don't stress.

What kind of muppet stops going to watch his team play after 45 yrs because of one player?!

He's not the greatest player by any stretch but we've had him since he was a kid and he's always given his all.

I can only assume that Dunne has shagged your wife and made you watch.

Well that is a blow but it was expected once Sid got his marching orders. I'd love to be optomistic based on the increased passion shown on Tuesday night. Unfortunately though increased passion does not equate to increased quality and a team with Dunne and beavers at this level will concede goals. Icould also see Martin starting because that's the sort of thing IH does. Hopefully he'll put maggie up front with gregs and start with Paris as he looked good. There's no way will keep a clean sheet so might as well go all out attack and score a couple for the fans!

@wolla5: what a disgrace if he is complaining, he must know that he isn't performing well enough any more and the fans and club gave him plenty of chances. Maybe being stabbed in the back is what makes him fall in his a*** every game.

Please remember his goal in the 1-0 win over Cardiff come the end of the season.

Forest are there for the taking today. A fair few first teamers out. A decent ten man performance from us midweek. Paris and Fabrini bring some pace and quality. Plus the hof had a blinder up there last year. We all know we've been s*** so far but get behind the team. s*** them off after we've played s*** but not before they have kicked a ball today!

We all knew priority was a centre back and striker but we're still short up front and lack goals can't see us scoring many and am concerned ,just hope we're tight at the back and pinch an early goal and try to hang on to it, big win if we can get it today.
