Millwall close in on loan swoop for Southampton's Hooiveld

DUTCH defender Jos Hooiveld could sign for Millwall within the next 24 hours.

Hooiveld is expected at the Lions' training ground tomorrow morning to complete the formalities of a loan move from Southampton until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old is currently registered to Norwich but they have agreed for him to return to his parent club ahead of a switch to The Den.

A source close to the player said on Sunday that Hooiveld is "looking forward" to joining Ian Holloway's ranks, having played just six games while on loan with the Canaries.

Good signing. Knack of scoring goals from the back and can win a header/bully forwards. Sign another left back and a target man and i' be well happy.

Hopefully just the job in our defence.

@teddy.T: took you as long as Robbo leaving to realise it? A decent centre-half was probably needed since Robbo got injured. If we get the Southampton version of this guy he might do alright but if we get the Norwich version we might have another reserve centre-half? Hopefully he'll take his chance.

@eio: Possibly the biggest 'wage thief' in history, so much talent but minimum effort. Tongue in cheek comment I know but we need grafters at our club, in all positions, grafters with a smidgen of class, even better.

@sadlier89: good signing with hoovied, can organise our defence, also been watching Gossens on YouTube and he looks a tidy midfielder, good in the tackle with good distribution and an eye for goal, if we do get Gossens we also need to splash out on a goal scoring CF, then if everyone stays fit we can stay up and build a descent squad

Good news, hope he hits the ground running and tightens things up a bit.

Any news on Paris' fitness for Tuesday Aldo??? Very interested to see what he can do for us, alongside our other new signings.. If everyone starts firing on all cylinders, we could have a half decent side here... COYL!

see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CblDavu-sk8 he seems to have a sense of humor could which could be just the thing for us at the moment to improve the feeling in the squad, one good win with the new players, a new atmosphere and we might just get out of this mess. On the video it said he scored eight goals when Saints went up to the prem' so at least we now have some presence in the box at corners with the Hoff as well. Nearly all comments from Southampton fans were that they would miss him, always a good sign. Good Luck 'big man' and welcome to the Den.
