Millwall to refund fans' tickets after Bradford horror show

MILLWALL chairman John Berylson has offered a refund to the 456 fans who bought tickets in advance of last night's FA Cup replay against Bradford.

Berylson will take the extraordinary step of reimbursing supporters' £15 entry fee after the Lions were thumped 4-0 by the League One side.

A club statement said: "The chairman wishes to thank everyone for their continued support during difficult times and has pledged to facilitate further squad strengthening with a view to seeing results improve in the very near future."

Details of how fans can get their money back will be announced shortly.

Chief executive Andy Ambler added: "The chairman is trying to bring in new players and strengthen the squad.

"We need the fans to stick with us and the chairman is continuing to invest.

"We lost £8million last year and we're going to fail Financial Fair Play for this season but the chairman is continuing to spend money on new players to get results."

Mr B, the only strengthening you need to do is in the managerial department. Get someone in who will give our promising youngsters a decent chance.

Well done JB, I suggest the poor sods who went to Norwich boxing day (probably many who went to Bradford as well) should also be reimbursed for their pain, sufferingand mental anguish.

HOWEVER it's really should be the players Ollie stumping up the cash not you JB!

That would be a true sorry from the actual culprits behind last nights horror show.

That is great, the least supporters deserve.
But that is just papering over the cracks,as he must of been told what the fans reaction to last night was.
JB your Manager has made us a laughing stock.
And we are reaching new lows every week.

I think ollies biggest mistake was giving this squad another chance... I don't think we can get another manager as good as him, so let him build his own team and then judge him.

Top draw JB. If nothing else, at least we have a Chairman that we can be proud of. Not much else to be proud about at the moment. Maybe anti- depressant vending machines at the Den next if things don't turn around quickly. Don't have any faith at the minute though. The only other plus at getting thumped 4-0 last night is that at least it won't be a 20-0 defeat at the bridge. Because lets face it that's probably what would have happened under the current circumstances! I'm passed caring if IH stays or goes as long as things turn around quickly. No more talk. 2 wins since October the 25th last year. 3 months ago! Any chance of getting Jesus on loan?

I woke up this morning expecting to hear the announcement about Holloways departure. God knows it's overdue. But strengthening the team? Don't insult our intelligence with this b*******. The manager is a dead-duck - you put him there, you get rid of him. Same as Bircham and Ambler. And don't give us any nonsense about more useless free-transfers that no-one else wants - that's almost all we've had for the past four/five years and look where its got us. Are you sure you're bothered about us fans - I'm sure we'd have seen a lot more of you if the regeneration scheme had come off instead.

If history hs taught us anything, it's that throwing good money after bad doesn't solve a thing.
It's at the management level that things need shaking up first.
Ambler- Wouldn't get a job anywhere else in football. A complete t***** who has the charisma of a caravan site.
Holloway-If he won't go - then sack him.
    Then at the squad level-
Dunne, Shittu, Forde, Hoyte, Chaplow, Bailey. Pay their contracts off and get rid. We have to pay them anyway so why not invest that money in getting them off our books and if they're really any cop then they'll have no problems in finding another club will they?

My son travelled on the official coach to support his team and paid at the gate. We will be contacting JB re a refund. But it's the players and Scrubs who should stump up the cash.

What makes me livid is Ambler saying "We need the fans to stick with us" as if we are the bad guys in all of this. I was supporting this club for 35 Years before he arrived and will do so long after he has gone. So according to him we should keep our mouths shut and accept what ever comes our way. F**king moron.

I think its a good thing that jb is doing by refunding our match tickets but I think that it should be the players refunding both the match and coach tickets seeing as the coaches left the den at 1230 and didn't get back till nearly 3 am a journey of over 14 hours

I can't understand why the chairman has seen fit to do this. £15 is not much to pay these days to see a cracking game of football including 4 goals and many near misses. Yes, you may have been disappointed with the result but you can't complain at the football on offer, even if most of it was being provided by the opposition. A few complimentary words about Bradford City would be nice to see from those who went to the match.

I don't think anyone expects us to simply accept what's been happening and keep quiet about it, but we need to be careful about how the "noise" is channelled.

Gregory, given the right service, has the potential to be one of our best players: what did "fans" hope to achieve by abusing his family last night? That really helped to improve things, didn't it.

On Saturday, we could have up to 5 new faces in the side (if Paris recovers early), who haven't featured in the recent debacles (apart from Hof at Blackpool), so instead of getting on their backs from the off, let's try to encourage them and create some atmosphere in the Den that they can feed off. In recent weeks it's been like watching football in a mausoleum so if we can change that, we'll be doing our bit.

If at the end it's still lamentable we can let Holloway know, but I'm hoping that this is going to be the beginning of a change for the better, so let's get behind it.

Yesterday my glass was completely empty, but I've drunk some beer and topped it up, now it's half-full. At least until 4.45 on Saturday!

Its a good call from JB, but as previously stated earlier just covering the cracks, Ollie & the players should pay up , if there p***ed off with that then they'll know how were all feeling week in & week out at the moment paying there wages. As far as im concerned last night was unacceptable in every department, its embarrassing, were truly starting to become a laughing stock

@Jim28: depending on what happens to unclaimed refunds you should take it if it applies to you (probably just a case of taking the stub to the ticket office) and give the money to charity.

This is my first post on here and just wanted to re emphasise the meaning of the words that I've sang nearly every Saturday for the last 20years. Those words are come rain or shine all the time. Myself and my 3 brothers were born and raised as Millwall and although we live over 2 hours away from gods little acre we go week in week out to support something that matters to us so dearly. I can't remember the last football game I watched and enjoyed? I go because it's who I am. The point I'm trying to make is we're one of the few clubs that still represent the same things our fathers football club did,we haven't sold out to be something we're not. We have got 10,000 fans, not this 46k real wall nonsense. That is just one of many examples of us trying to be something we're not. We're not a big club,we're a mid table championship club at best but the thing that made us that is not there anymore. I am truly amazed by the amount of people that think differently and it will be a truly sad day when we're in the prem and there are more of them than me. Until that happens I will be there this Saturday and next cheering Millwall on and be proud of who we are even when we do lose again.
