Millwall cancel last six months of goalkeeper's contract

STEPHEN Bywater's contract with Millwall has been cancelled.

The goalkeeper was told before the start of the season that he had no long-term future with the club and subsequently joined Gillingham on loan.

But the 33-year-old was sent back prematurely by the League One outfit and has been spending recent weeks back training with the Lions.

Bywater, who was the first signing made by ex-manager Steve Lomas, was named on the bench for Millwall's game at Blackpool last weekend but has now departed the club.

@sjk1768: Dunne, not so sure. Bailey (Sicknote) he can f*ck off. Fuller, IH has a point, he has passion and is the closest we have to a striker if we're being honest!

@Brooks88: Dunne gets found out week after week, he ain't championship level, baily can only play 6 games a season, but agree he can't go anywhere, as for fuller we can get rid and buy a better forward surely!!! Looks like we're playing 3-5-2 tonight? Surely not!

@RobsterK: we need forde out ! Ollie out ! Dunne league 1 ! To many sick notes and bench warmers that take the P ! No heart or soul ! This will end badly unless Berylson takes action now !!!! Ollies record is only just better than Lomas ! A year on and same state as before ! We have not improved at all which is the measure of a manager ! Look at Lennon what a difference !

If IH wanted him out why was he on the subs bench ahead of king in our last game ,was king injured if not?, another off the wall decision by IH.

And sadly, brooks88, he should take Dunne to!! I know Dunne is Millwall through and through but commitment and effort are not enough now!!

@leemark: I don't think his commitment and effort have ever been in question. He just isn't a Championship quality player

'Contract cancelled' presumably means we gave him 6 months money to p*** off. Money well spent.
Now, how long has Hoyte got left ?

Little bit of a side story on former Millwall keepers, but my older brother who now lives up in Liverpool, took his eldest son to football training a while back and was amazed to see another youngest there wearing a Millwall kit. While he was there he heard this kids surname which was 'Warner'.
The next thing he saw was our very own Tony Warner (Denzil) walk in to pick his kid up.
Anyway, to cut a long story short my brother got talking to Denzil and said he had nothing but good things to say about Millwall.

@Syd the Lion: I had the good fortune to bump into Denzil and a mate in Magaluf a good few years back when we were on an end of season tour - him and his mate ended up joining our lot for the week - top, top fella and good with the ladies.

@Syd the Lion: It was; I can't remember his name, but his mate was a little fat black fella with buck teeth and the thickest scouse accent you've ever heard. He was right up for the crack.

@block 28: I don't understand why Hoyte wasn't the first person out of the door? At least Easter, Wright and Robinson could have still played for us if need be.

Thanks for the entertainment Steve, I've spent many an afternoon at The Den laughing at how many times you let all your team mates score past you in the pre match warm up. I'm surprised you ain't got a bad back with all that bending over whilst fetching the ball out the back of the net. You are without doubt the worst goalie I've seen at Millwall. Are you Scottish by any chance?
