Watford's Diego Fabbrini close to joining Millwall on loan

DIEGO Fabbrini is poised to join Millwall on loan from Watford for the rest of the season.

The Lions have agreed a deal with the Hornets for the 24-year-old, who met with Ian Holloway for talks earlier this week.

Fabbrini is training with Watford this morning but is expected to link up with his new teammates on Friday.

A versatile attacking player, the one-time Italy international can play on the left or the right wing, or in an advanced midfield position behind a lone striker.

Fabbrini came through the youth academy at Empoli and made over 50 appearances for their first team before he was snapped up by Udinese for over £3million.

He went on loan to Palermo before moving to Watford in July 2013.

Fabbrini has made 29 appearances for the Hornets since then and spent time on loan at Siena last season.

What's also so incredibly frustrating is that we have been in a similar mess like this before, before JB and AA got here, back in the days of Dave Tuttle, Colin Lee, Spackman and... Ray Hartford... Oh hang on!... Jackett did a fantastic job in clearing the decks, changing the club from top to bottom but must of realised something was up, maybe he had enough of the Board not showing real ambition when we hear from the likes of Berylson and Ambler saying "Oh we could of sign Austin but..." "Yes we matched the asking price for Chris Wood but..." Kenny probably thought forget it I need to go to a club with real ambition not this crap of constantly scavenging the barging bin for players nobody else wants, and who can blame him.

I think JB is a great guy for what he has done for us and is extremely likeable, doesn't b******* and wears his heart on his sleeve but in all seriousness who at board level is an actual footballing person? Real inside knowledge of the game, Who? Not "I went to see 2 or 3 other bigger clubs to see how they do things" Ambler nor JB's friends and family on the board. I understand about the need to have a Director of Football or Head of Scouting or whatever the title AA prefers at the club to actually steer the whole thing in the right direction. Since Barry Fry become the Director of Football at Peterborough they have been unearthing gems and selling players for an absolute fortune. What are we doing instead? Giving our better players (I use that term loosely) away and signing up yet more over the hill rubbish and looking to bring in loans for players who have rubbish scoring records like Church or this other bloke from Watford Diego Fabbrini, we just don't seem to learn at all!!

I just can't believe the board are more than happy to sit back and watch this, why don't JB come out publically and say something, anything. He was quick to do so on the Regen stuff but what about the footballing side of things? Results on the pitch, let us know his thoughts on this bleak situation, over 3 years now of being served disappointment like this now. Where's the Delia Smith's "Lets be avin you" moment! from him. Give us a war cry JB, just shut Olly up please.

@les the lion: Just what we need another fing winger when what is required to give us a fighting chance of staying in the Championship is someone who can find the net more than 4 times a season & someone who can marshal the defence and stop the avalanche of goals that we are conceding week in week out.

Now just remind me,did we loan another great player from Watford !!!
You have to ask yourself - Why is he not in the Watford team.
    Now let me guess.

Looks like the lads can play but it not another midfielder that we are crying out for us it? We need two new centre halfs and a proven goal scorer and I'd settle for one that even average 10 goals a season!!
P.s - be happy if Dunne, Beevers and Shittu never play for us again, it's time to move on!!

    Welcome to Millwall Fabbrini.
We are having a terrible time so create and score some goals and make yourself a hero.
Despite our situation all is not lost. I believe with the new signings and more to arrive this month that we could still survive this season.

But he isn't a great goal scorer we need a striker, not a midfielder come right winger come just off the front two type of player , even if he did provide goals for Fuller,Griggs, hoff,Woolford and mc Donald they'd still all miss!!........out and out striker is what we need, think our hope is young Paris Cowen- hall to be honest.

Can play anywhere apparently.. even on the Bench !
He sounds like a cheap Wine but if he can hit the back of the net then thats just what we need at the moment.. we could start winning 6-5 or 5-4, etc..

@Peckham exile: well tempers were running high, collectively a lot of very p***** off hardcore fans seeing their dream of giving it to Chelsea for the first time un 20 years literally blown apart by a lower league mob and from where I was stood the players rolled over and couldn't be arsed to stop Bradford taking the fans dream away. The stick was not directed at Lee's family - it was at the players on the pitch. Lee's Dad takes exception to that and has a go and he got some back. So f****** what? First Fuller tells us to f*** off, then Lee goes public on that flash in the pan inconsequential moment. We have a f****** right to an opinion don't we. I like Lee and feel sorry for him that his dream move to us has been so tough due to the shambles that Ollie's placed him in and f****** him about since he arrived - but why come out and tweet to make us look bad after what we went through yesterday. What should we do, applaud the players for giving f*** all to the Millwall cause just in case Daddy's there? Get it in perspective, and if you weren't there you shouldn't comment so piously - and btw what the f*** has this got to do with signing this nobody from Watford's reserves?

Last night should have been the night of the long knives but incredibly, everybody is still employed by our football club. If Holloway hadn't lost the dressing room before last nights 'lock-down' then he certainly has now. 'Dysfunctional group' is going to do wonders for morale isn't it Ollie? and signing players and ' keeping them away' from the contracted players we have already is really going to get it all to gel-NOT.
If you put white into black you get grey. You have to mix these players. You can't possibly sign eleven players not in two weeks you can't.
It also amazes me how JB can have the confidence in Ambler to run a football club. He trots off to other clubs ' to see how they do things'. How about gripping the wheel with some guts behind it and steer us away from the cliffs that are right in front of us Ambler?
We are being laughed at by everyone. Millwall are not accustomed to being rolled over on the pitch. Look at our recent results. Any other club, ANY OTHER CLUB would have changed things. Not us.
It's like running a shop. So what if some of the staff tell our customers to f*** off?. That's ok cos it shows passion. So what if he's s***? Let's give him a 3 yr contract. So what if we haven't sold much for 2 months? Its OK-they're still coming in through the doors.
Complete and utter ineptitude from the boardroom down.

I never heard of this player, how many goals has he scored for Watford? Seems yet another stop gap to keep the fans happy. A team needs a slow patient build up, with players who play consistently together, so IH introduces 4 or 5 new signings who have never played together! It has happened before, you cannot make a good team overnight it is nonsense. Obviously IH has no idea what to do, the chairman has blinkers on and Ambler ducks under the table. It is no good, we need a new man at the helm that is plain obvious.
