Preview: Blackpool vs. Millwall

ANDY Wilkinson has travelled with Millwall's squad to Blackpool having briefly returned to parent club Stoke City for treatment on a back injury.

The right-sided defender could return to the starting XI at Bloomfield Road in a move that would likely see Alan Dunne revert to centre half.

Lee Gregory (back) and Mark Beevers (ankle) face late fitness tests but Shaun Williams is suspended. New signing Paris Cowan-Hall is out with a calf strain.

Left back Dan Harding is set to make his debut after joining from Nottingham Forest, while Stefan Maierhofer could be involved if he receives international clearance.

Blackpool duo Jamie O'Hara and Darren O'Dea will start for the hosts after they signed contract extensions.

New signings Saer Sene and Grant Hall are both available.

Was expecting quite a few new faces for this very important six pointer, but I think we are actually weaker than the last game with the loss of Malone( lots will disagree).
Surely the scouts had done there work before January and these players should be with us now, what have we got so far a left back who is no better than Malone, an already injured winger and the man who is score all our goals the HOFF, very frustrating time been a lions fan at the moment!!

to be fair i think that with Malone gone it will give Briggs the chance to step up and be counted, when i saw him against Bradford i thought that he had a very good game.

@dpendet: Harding is a better defender than Malone no question..... probably doesn't offer as much going forward though

@TheBermondseyBomber: Harding should be better for 2 reasons... 1. Experience.. and 2. It sounds like he actually 'wants' to play for us!
I thought he was more of a traditional, defensive minded player like Wilkinson - but in his interview on lions player he said he considers himself to be an 'attacking full back' so we shall see..... COYL.

Wilkinson and Harding at Right and Left Back respectively who both seem more comfortable as traditional defenders, is a very different proposition to what Olly had originally in mind when he wanted Malone and Edwards (Although Edwards would be fantastic as a Right Winger as well) bombing up the flanks last season and beginning of this season. Along with the Hof and Paris, it all seems to be gearing up to a return to traditional Millwall style of play which is what we need right now to get us out of this funk we find ourselves in yet again.

Why does IH insist on playing Dunne at Centre Back? He has got Shittu, Nelson, Beevers and Webster who are all specialists in this position to choose from. After seeing Goodman on the box against Liverpool the other night I would even play him in front of Dunne. He has been a Right Back nearly all his career and IH doesn't consider him to be first choice there because he has brought Wilkinson in on loan.

Martinez now out injured, still we got a couple of games out of him in 6 months. Stick with the youth at least they are not clambering for the treatment table every 5 mins. Apart from the youth and the old wall players we seem to be a club full of frail pansies ffs. Overpaid and under worked, Alfie Wood would be laughing in his grave at them fking bunch of fairies.

    And another training ground injury
You really couldn't make this up
Sick and tired of this now something really needs to be done asap no wonder our players are scared to put their foot in in games. It's a really sick joke we won't attract real quality cause they'll be worried about this so called training ollie has implemented
What a laughing stock we've become.
As we were then up at Blackpool same old poxy effortless 11.
    Good luck wall

@lukesmithmfc: Ollies obscession with getting them fit , for what because it sure isn't football. That's why we have a senior squad of 40 + it's the only way we can be sure of fielding 11 plus a couple of bench warmers.

Hope we don't try and play for a draw otherwise we'll probably lose. Be positive Millwall and we might just take home three points.

As for all these injuries, to be fair to Ollie it's impossible to keep a settled side and this needs to be looked into.

@harry2310: the injuries are due to his fitness regime they're his ideas so he has to be responsible for them the only person benefiting is bobby the physio.
      It's a complete joke
