READING boss Steve Clarke has  fuelled speculation that Shaun Cummings is on the brink of joining Millwall.

NewsAtDen revealed that the Lions are hunting the 25-year-old this month and are hoping to agree a fee with the Royals for his services.

Clarke is "pretty sure he [Cummings] will be in my squad this weekend" but did not offer any further assurances about the defender's future.

He said: "January is silly season. You will come to me every week with a rumour and a story and I'm going to straight bat them all.

"When something happens, you guys will be the first to know. I'm pretty sure he will be in my squad this weekend."
