SCOTT Malone is Cardiff-bound after Millwall accepted a bid for the left back.

The Bluebirds' initial offer was rejected but they returned with improved terms on Friday and have now been given permission to discuss personal terms with Malone.

Cardiff boss Russell Slade went on the record to confirm his interest in the 23-year-old after his side's FA Cup win over Colchester United last night.

"He is on our radar," Slade said.

But a deal is almost complete, with Malone only needing to pass a medical and finalise his contract before an official announcement can be made by the two clubs.

The Lions' preference was to swap Malone for a Cardiff player but they've decided to accept a cash offer of around £100,000 instead.

Ian Holloway could now push ahead with a loan move for Nottingham Forest's Dan Harding as Millwall look to quickly source a replacement.

Super, well done Millwall FC. Sell a 23year old for£100k and sign on loan a 30year old on say 6-10k a week so worst case the Malone fee is gone in 10 loan weeks. Good business sense that!!! Ambler...... I wouldn't let you run a bath let alone a business
