Millwall midfielder Williams hit with four-match suspension

SHAUN Williams will serve a FOUR game ban after his red card against Bournemouth.

Williams aimed a stamp at Cherries' £3million-striker Callum Wilson and was promptly given his marching orders during the Lions' 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

Manager Ian Holloway described the midfielder's actions as "unforgivable".

A dismissal for violent conduct normally carries a three-match ban.

But Williams was also sent off against Wolves earlier in the season, so he has been hit by an additional suspension.

@eddielarge: £25'000.00p per week basic wage then the bonuses added on etc was the reason chris woods gone. Millwall did try but he chose money rather than guaranteed first team football. this information came from a very good confidant of mine.

i think your mate might have it a little bit wrong lion.
JB has gone on record saying we matched the transfer fee and wage's so evidently money was not the problem.
Unless JB is telling porkies, but i would believe JB before i would believe any thing you write.

@Lion: just to wrap this one up.
We matched pound for pound but wood's agent also his dad persuaded wood to go to Leicester it was purely football I. E bigger fan base more funds and more realistic chance of prem football.
They both came out with it in the local press. Location also had something to do with it.

JB specifically said we matched every thing pound for pound, transfer fee and wage's.
I understood that wood went to leicester because he had a better chance of premiership football and his own father had a big say in the final decision .

A four-game ban should be no surprise - that's what Shane Lowry got for the same thing earlier this year. It looked to me that Wilson should've got a red too. I can't justify stamping on anyone, but Wilson flinging Williams to the ground over his shoulder was itself a violent retaliatory act. I suppose it's the usual one law for us, eh?

Yeah, he dropped a king size bollock when he reacted in the way he did, he let himself ,the club and the supporters who pay his wages down very badly. Cos with 10 mins still left that scuppered any hope of a late fight back. Also we are now without our best player for the next 4 games whilst we are in deep s***. Some on here say " it shows he cares" personally I think it shows he don't give a s***.

This could be a Massive blessing in disguise I must be the only one trying to look at this positively... I do believe we are far over using him and pinning hopes on the best footballing player, but with a team devoid of confidence lets miss him out and GO long back to front... Him and McDonald to miss 4 games couldn't be any worse... I would suggest if holloway wants to go completely mental I would have
    Forde
    Nelson Webster dunne beevers
    Jimmy/Martinez
    Martin/Malone/Maggie
    Gregory
    No passing
    No bounces
    Press in the right places
    Just get it forward ...

      @Bush:
Bit of a dodgy line up if you ask me. Young 18 year old CENTRE HALF who's played 1 senior match at right back? Webster and dunne as a centre half pair who are without doubt, the 2 worst centre halves we have, plus dunne is a right back. Beevers can't play left back we've all seen him there enough to know that. Then Malone who is like bamby on ice with the ball in attacking midfield. If you really want us to play a no nonsense long ball game where all we do is get it up there you might aswell stick shittu up top, aim it up at him and f*** the wide men off and go 4-3-3 , forde wilkinson nelson Beevers Malone upson abdou as defensive midfielders with Martin just in front to be 'creative' if possible with a front 3 of fuller to the left shittu in the centre and Gregory to the left. Would make more of an impact than that madness you suggested I reckon.

@82wall: its all well and good putting shittu up top but if you can't chest the ball control the ball or lay the ball off why put him there ?
Let's take responsibility away from Dunne and Webster and let them smash it up field like robbo . Beevers is at left back to just do a job and a big man for corners.
Malone can't defend and doesn't want to... so let the boy run to and open the game up for Maggie and Martin might be half a threat of getting in behind with 3 of our best runners . We lack pace and legs in the team, fuller and shittu can't start . That's for the last ten ..
When you say Martin in midfield to be creative he will need people byond him, to make it happen.

Mate, with respect, your talking out your a***. I know tactics, I have to! It's my day job to analyse player performance. I'm telling you that line up would get hammered. You say shittu can't control the ball, but if all your doing is smashing it up there you don't need him to, just get him winning headers. Also take responsibility away from dunne and Webster???? What does that even mean? I repeat that they are our worst centre halves, what do you think that they won't have the other team running at them at all during the game? Same with Beevers at left back. Your talking as if we are going to have all the possession and just launch it forwards. If so, then why play wide men? Pointless argument mate just let holloway do the tactics!

Not keen on that idea unless we get someone up front like matt smith, big and powerful to hold the ball up and win first headers, and we need a second striker to work off him. But firing it up to GREGGO up there on his own has already proved to be not much cop,and as for MAGGIE , don't think he's gonna be good enough.

Just watching Scouse Cnuts vs Swans and the commentator mentioned that the Swans have signed another forward from Benfica to go with Bony and Gomis. Unless Bony is on his way that might open the door for a loan move for Marvin Emnes and if Holloway is looking for pace.....?

So we're finally in the bottom 3 f*** me I've never seen a team try so hard to get there. Now we are there maybe they can relax a little and do what we pay them to do, win football matches.
We can't keep doing this yr after yr and expect to scrape out of it at the last minute. Luton and Coventry done it for yrs in the old div 1 and haven't been close to a return.
I don't know what the answers are but it really isn't looking too good.
Maybe throwing s*** loads of money at it is a cure it's certainly an option and we don't really have much choice either. Roll on Feb just so we can see the outcome of the Jan sales.

    We have three problem's.
    1. We have a 34 year ,immobile centre forward that IH insist's on playing, when IH does not start fuller IH expect's Gregory to play upfront on his own, chasing every thing down and score goal's ,i think Gregory is a good player but he is not superman, then when IH bring's on Fuller as sub Gregory is relegated to second fiddle ie he has to support fuller from a wide mid- field position.
2.When the forward play break's down our mid-field is not good enough to re-gain control of the ball.
    3. Our defender's are not good enough to defend the opposition's many attack's.
In a nut shell we are F****d big time.
Over to you IH,so get that supposedly silver tongue of your's in gear and get some half decent pacey player's in defence and attack .
Then go to a shrink learn haw to play basic defensive football and transform it to the match's.
I was a big supporter of IH but i am afraid i now think he is a bit of a con artist.
Now before all you powder puff's { jim 28 block28 bushwacker 14 i have truly reformed ] come on and say he should be judged on next season's result's as this will be his own team, sorry fella's he has 10 of his own player's at the club plus three existing player's that he decided were good enough to give contract's to Fordy ,Easter and Marquis, IH thought Easter and Marquis were good enough to give a contract to but has made scant use of them, where is the sense in that.
