MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett says he is in no rush to sign a new striker this summer, despite all-but conceding defeat in his pursuit of Harry Kane.

The Lions boss had been hoping to re-sign Tottenham forward Kane following a succesful loan spell last season, but Spurs' new technical director Tim Sherwood revealed last week that the 18-year-old would be staying at White Hart Lane.

“It doesn’t necessarily surprise us because first and foremost Harry is a Spurs player, as I’ve always said," Jackett told News Shopper.

“You are always mindful of having enough strikers but I’ve been pleased with the way ours have started [in pre-season]. Shaun Batt has come back very well, as has John Marquis.

“Dany N’Guessan went to Charlton at the end of last season and got some goals, Darius Henderson is fit and we’ve got Andy Keogh, so my focus at the moment is on the people who are here."
