Martinez and Gueye give Millwall manager a fitness boost

MILLWALL duo Magaye Gueye and Angel Martinez are back in Ian Holloway's thoughts.

Gueye had been dropped from the squad due to a lack of fitness, while Martinez has yet to feature for the Lions since injuring his calf.

But Holloway says the duo are nearly ready to return to the fray.

He said: "Magaye's running times are coming down and that's all you can ask for.

"He's improving so I might be able to bring him back into the group.

"Angel's had a bit of back luck and nobody's seen him yet. To play in my team you need to be able to run hard so we tried to get Angel running but he tore something.

"But he's back now and training well."

Give Gueye a chance to start against Watford, then bring him off if he's too fat!

What logic is that? He's not fit so leave him out completely? Surely the best way to improve fitness is to bring them on late in the game and gradually give him more game time? Especially if he's already showed how dangerous he can be?

"We tried to get Angel running but he tore something" I bet he managed to run up the stairs to the managers office ok to sign his contract. He is not unlucky imop he is very lucky that someone who is unfit for their profession is able to draw a ludicrous wage. Rant over.

If he is responding, then he deserves a chance. Watford are quick and Gueye will at least give them something to worry about.
